Hi! I'm so excited you have found your way here—
Nature-Based or Nature-Informed Therapy is not really a new approach; in fact, it is probably one of the oldest therapeutic approaches (though perhaps not spelled out as such). Yet, in today’s busy, technologically run world, it is often forgotten. The idea of taking counseling out of the office and into nature often is often seen as radical. It doesn't need to be. The research on time spent in nature shows overwhelming benefits including better sleep, improved mood, mental clarity, creativity, and calm.
While many think of nature-based mental health as adventure- or wilderness-related, this approach can be done in your own backyard, local park, or even an urban city bench.
Whether you are seeking greater mental well-being for yourself or someone you care about, or if you are a professional looking for a different approach, seeking resources or supervision, I hope you will find something of value here.
I look forward to talking with and meeting you soon.
If you are interested in nature-based counseling practices, training, or supervision please see the "For Professionals" tab above.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

I see you as not only having great counseling and leadership skills, but also possessing the ethical values to shape our field for the better... I believe you have the wisdom to steer our field in the right direction
Client's Parent
I've noticed a ton of improvement in [my daughter]'s behavior and overall attitude. We still have good and bad days, but the bad days are not even in the same boat anymore.... Her self-esteem is growing right before my eyes... You have such a positive impact on her.
Client
I save stuff for here, and when I'm having a bad day I think I only have a couple days left until I can come see you and talk about it.
