Can I book an Intake Session?
Absolutely! Just click the "contact" button from the menu above and send me a message. Make sure you include the best way to get ahold of you, and maybe a brief description of what you hoping to gain from therapy.
What do I wear?
If you plan to be outside, dress for outside. If you want to hike let me know and were hiking shoes. I don't mind going out in the rain if you don't. And if it is going to be really hot bring extra water and clothes that keep you cool. Some days we might get a little dirty, so keep that in mind, and in SW OK you might want to add sunscreen and a hat.

My typical day involves cozy and comfee, loose fitting clothes and sandals, if I wear shoes at all.
What might we do in a session?
Anything! Walk, sit at a park bench and talk and sip coffee, walk barefoot through the grass, practice finding quiet and peace, practice breathing, using a nature as a metaphor, incorporate art, play, and discovery. Just about anything done in an office can be taken outside, and often improved on.
What about accessibility?
There are many locations all over SW Oklahoma that are available to wheel chairs or those with limited mobility. I will work with you to find a place that is comfortable for you.
This idea makes me nervous, what if I change my mind?
That's just fine. Your counseling appointment is for you, and if you don't feel comfortable going outside than I am happy to meet you in an office setting. In fact, our first appointment will be in an office.

If getting out in nature is one of your goals I will help you work towards that. If you are more comfortable staying indoors, that's just fine.

If you are a parent or guardian of an active kid and are a little worried about what that might look like, or a parent of a kid who has been resistant to counseling in the past, we can address those issues as well. Sometimes active kids do better outdoors than in, and sometimes kids who have been resistant to an office are thrilled to find someone to go outside with.
What training do you have?
I graduated with my Masters in Counseling in 2003. I have been licensed in Oklahoma since 2007 as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am also a designated LPC supervisor for those working towards licensure.

II completed a doctorate in 2024 in Counselor Education and Supervision with research in ecotherapy.

In 2001 in coordination with my Ph.D. I began a Masters program in Outdoor Education.
