How It Works
What to Expect
Carving out time for yourself can be tricky, and carving out time to just sit an office doesn't make the idea of therapy very appealing, at least to me. But with that said, I realize that no two people are alike, and we all have our own challenges. So don't worry. I will meet you where you are. I'm not going to make you climb mountains or cross logs over streams-- unless that's what you want to do.
Nature-Based Counseling can work for anyone, at pretty much any athletic level and of any ability. From a simple "walk-and-talk" through a park, or sitting at a local picnic bench and sipping coffee together, I will tailor your counseling experience to your goals, using nature-based and evidence-based practices.
I am a creative person by nature, and I love to incorporate the use of metaphor, journaling, photography, and art into my sessions, but I'm just as happy to build a sandcastle, play in the mud, or just go for a walk.
And don't worry- if the heat is too much, or if it is raining too hard for your liking, or the mosquitoes are too bitey, we can still sit in the office. The sessions are about you and your goals, and I'm committed to helping you make those changes that you want to work for.
