About Me.

I am a highly qualified and passionate Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Approved Supervisor based in Oklahoma. Additionally, I am qualified for licensure throughout the US with the certifications of National Certified Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor through the National Board of Clinical Counseling. My dedication to counseling extends beyond my clinical work, as I have been an instructor for a hybrid (in-person and Zoom) counseling program since 2022. Currently pursuing my doctoral degree at National Louis University, my doctoral research is focused on urban ecotherapy and environmental justice. My research interviews are on track to be completed in October 2023, giving me a potential defense date in January 2024. I am the founding editor of our program's CSI Chapter (Nu Lambda Upsilon) newsletter. The NLU Informer started in 2021, is a quarterly newsletter dedicated not only to the goings on of our program but also to scholarly articles and book reviews and dedicated to the CSI values of scholarship, leadership, and advocacy. In 2022, I was elected as our CSI Chapter President. I was further recognized as a leader and dedicated counselor as the recipient of the 2023 Oklahoma Counseling Association's "Counselor of the Year".

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience working in diverse settings, ranging from urban emergency rooms to rural nature-based services and in-patient and traditional outpatient environments. While I genuinely enjoy the counseling aspect of my profession, my passion for fostering relationships and engaging with counseling students and colleagues has sparked a desire to expand my contributions in the field of education. I am eager to bring my expertise and dedication to a role that allows me to make a meaningful impact on the next generation of counseling professionals. As a member of the faculty at Cameron University, I have fostered relationships with students both professionally and in that relational/mentorship role. As a leader I have have been heavily involved in motivating our students to get involved, and am proud to share that Cameron University had the highest level of volunteers for our 2023 OCA Fall Conference of any program in Oklahoma. Additionally, I brought one of our students with me to present. This level of development is a passion of mine, and the mentorship I hope to offer is due to both the desires I had in finding mentorship and the mentorship I received.
